OK, I have my product list nailed down for my portfolio class...here goes:
Service/Retail - The Atlanta Botanical Garden
Small Durable - Radio Flyer Red Wagon
Large Durable - Singer Sewing Machine
Packaged Good - Prenatal Vitamins
If you have any crazy thought/ideas/comments for any of these, let me know! The more the better!
School is going well, I'm learning a LOT already. Basically, I'm figuring out what makes an ad crappy. And I'm learning how to make those ads great! So, we'll see if I can really do it in a few weeks. I have 100 thumbnails due next Thursday. You take a piece of regular paper, divide it into four rectangles and fill up 100 of those rectangles. Big time crazy!
I hope to someday make stuff like this...

Another.
And so it begins. Classes start back up tomorrow. Normally I'd be a bit sad for the break to end, but for some silly reason, I'm thrilled to get back into gear.
Here's the schedule...
ICM - Yikes. More mathy things.
Qualitative and Quantitative Research - Surveys! Be ready to fill one out for me.
Portfolio One - Ideas! Drawing! Learning! Ads!
Not only will I be doing schooly things, but I'm the new president for the Advertising Graduate Council. I'm stoked to get in there and have some new things for the group. Not to mention planning the next trip. (We just got back from Toronto.)
Ah, and then there's C3 Presents...yes...the internship of my dreams. I'm going to speak with the internship coordinator this week to see what I'll be doing during the semester. More on that later!
So, I'm enjoying my last day as a non-busy student. Oh, and my last day as a 22-year-old. :) Cake, here I come!
How great is this cake?

Tie this.
The past few days have been filled with beers, roast beef and 30 Rock DVD marathons. Gotta love Christmas break.
A new tradition began in the Grober House of Women. My sister, Kelly, and her boyfriend, Carl, were the team to beat in the first EVER Gingerbread House Building Contest!!! (Cue Rocky music)
So, here's the red teammmm... Kelly, a creative and meticulous pharmacist, is ever-so detail-orientated, striving for perfectly straight lines and the most beautiful color scheme. Carl, a sly and animal-killing-machine, is determined to out-build and out-bake all the fierce competition.
And in the blue corner is Jeff and myself. Jeff, a manly home-building maven, looks to shoot down the competition with his mad skills of roof and wall construction. I just love to eat icing.
It was a tough competition, but at 1 a.m. on New Years' we received the results from all the voting that took place for a week before the clock struck 2008. Here is mom's text message telling the winners the good news...
"Creative award goes to Jeff and Em. Construction award goes to Kelly and Carl. Congrats."
A freakin' tie. Well, I'm down with it, but I must give a warning...
Kelly and Carl, next year there will be NO ties. No 'everyone wins' messages from mom. There will be losers and I'm looking your way. Watch your icing bags.
