New York?

Today I learned that I can apply for a grant if I get a summer internship with a music industry-related group. I would need to travel to Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, New York or Nashville. But if I landed an internship and got the grant I could get up to $6,000 to live off of. Wow. So, the search begins...

(By the way, I can't even begin to explain how excited I am about this...)

Bridal

So, I'm really excited about my new little venture I'm working on! I've got some dear pledge sisters who are trusting me with some designs for their wedding (LOTS of trust!) and I'm loving every second of it! Here's what I've done so far...

-Monogram for Stacy Murray
-Program for Megan Clayton
-Program, reply cards, thank you notes for Lindsay Zuck

Here is what I've designed for Lindsay Zuck, a funky, colorful, unconventional bride who wants to do "something completely different." I eagerly went to my computer and constructed some designs, and this is what I've come up with for her invitations...

If you know of anyone needing a special and personal touch to her wedding, please pass on my information!

I'm going to try and build a Web site for this stuff so I can direct people to somewhere other than a blog.

Crunch!

Some of my friends are in a contest for The One Show (aka-the Oscars of advertising). My buddies are incredibly talented and they decided to enter the contest. After spending all-nighters in the lab, they finally finished their entry.

The campaign they created is for Doritos and I love it! There are three different spots created and you can watch and laugh hysterically at them all. (You must click the play button to watch.)

Notice the picnic spot...yep, that's me and my bird friends.

So, keep your fingers crossed...they find out in April if they win! Go buddies! I'm so proud!

Music, music, music, music. And camping.

I bought my ticket to Langerado today!!! Jeff and I leave March 5 and listen to great music from the 6th to the 12th. I'm so excited! It'll be like a little Woodstock...but in the everglades...and not in the 70s...and with clothed people...maybe.

We'll be camping out each night and cooking little meals with a baby stove. Bands play from noon to 3 and 4 a.m. Ah, I'm so ready.

Here is who I'm excited about seeing...
Phil Lesh from the Dead
Matisyahu
The Roots
Ani DiFranco
Ben Folds
Keller Williams
Sound Tribe Sector 9
Robert Randolph and the Family Band
The Wailers
!!!
Ghostland Observatory
Vampire Weekend

There are many more, but I'd feel you may get jealous.

Stars!

Got the job with McDonald Observatory! I've already worked two days and I'm really enjoying it. I'm working from 8:30-11:30 every Monday through Friday. It gets me up and gets me going in the morning! And no, I do NOT drink coffee. :)

We had our first Advertising Graduate Council meeting last night and I'm really looking forward to all the activities the officers planned. We're going to do some great, new things. I hope those who were at the meeting passed on the good news to their friends.

I'm taking a break from my 100 thumbnails assignment. I'm drawing 100 ideas for the Atlanta Botanical Garden and I'm at a road block. I hope I can crank 'em out before tomorrow! Ah! Wish me luck. Wish upon a star? Ha.

Interview.

I'll give you an update. The folks at C3 (the magical place I've been trying to get a job with) have informed me that their intern from this past semester has come back for seconds. So, they're not sure if they have room for another intern. Sting.

So, I got some information passed on to me about a job with the McDonald Observatory. This job has a lot to do with press, public relations, branding, stuff I know about. Soooo, I applied and I have an interview Monday at 2:30! It's random, I know, but I'm thrilled to have something else on my plate! :) I'll update when necessary. Holla.
